Board and Brew: A Southern California Classic

Few sandwich shops have earned the kind of loyal following that Board and Brew has across Southern California. Founded in 1979 in Del Mar, California, the restaurant built its reputation on fresh ingredients, generous portions, and its famous Secret Sauce. What started as a neighborhood sandwich shop has grown into a Southern California favorite while still keeping the laid back beach town atmosphere that made it popular in the first place.

For me, Board and Brew is more than just a place to grab lunch. It brings back great memories from different stages of my life!

One of my favorite locations was the Board and Brew in La Habra, close by my best friend's old apartment. We'd walk over for sandwiches and salads, and it quickly became one of our regular spots. While most people swear by the famous Secret Sauce, I've always been partial to their Caesar dressing. It's honestly one of my favorite Caesar dressings anywhere, and I usually ask for it on my sandwiches instead.

Another favorite stop became the Huntington Beach location. I'd grab a sandwich after the beach.

Then, after years of hoping a location would open closer to home, it finally happened. Last year, Board and Brew opened in Laguna Beach, and I couldn't have been happier! It's within walking distance from my place and sits directly across from Main Beach, making it one of the best places to people watch while enjoying lunch, dinner or a drink.

The sandwiches are generously sized, reasonably priced, and consistently fresh. Whether you're dining in after the beach, grabbing a quick bite, or picking up catering, it's easy to see why so many locals choose their party boxes for meetings, gatherings, and events. They're simple, convenient, and always a crowd pleaser!

Sometimes the best restaurants aren't the fanciest ones. They're the places connected to great memories, familiar faces, and consistently good food. For me, Board and Brew checks every one of those boxes, and now that Laguna Beach has its own location, I'm looking forward to making many more memories there!
